Encanto has been a pretty big deal as of late. As most readers of the Life Imitates Art series know, I’m not a fan of most Disney products, but when my friends and family began excitedly relating this movie as a must see; I took the plunge and have gone Disneying.
The idea, was to take advantage of a free trial with Disney Plus to watch this film. Alas, Disney Plus no longer offers free trials. The monthly cost of a Disney Plus subscription, however; is cheaper than a trip to the movies. With regards to the good ol’ RedBox option, I’d claim that it’s much more convenient.
Typical behavior for me is to call it a free trial that accompanied a 7.99 video rental. That said; since I subscribed, I’ve been determined to get my moneys worth.
That, my dear friends, is why this blog post is so late. I’ve been busy binge watching Disney Plus content and it’s making me incredibly happy.
Once upon a time, there was a man in my life who’d yelled at me quite often.
This individual, who is no longer a part of my life; has manifested himself as a tiny little character on my shoulder – moreover; in my head. He appears as a mix between Gargamel (from the Smurfs) and The Purple Pie Man (from Strawberry Shortcake). As I reel through this Disney content, this imaginary being is livid – due to his own personal grievances with the Walt Disney Corporation and I’m loving that.
Check out my anniversary post for background on my book series, where this character is introduced.
I’ll return in a bit.
